Name: Shining Armor
Series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Timeline: After the end of Season 2, before Season 3; after the honeymoon.

Personality: Shining Armor is usually a very kind, easy-going pony. Nowhere better is this shown than in his relationship with his little sister, Twilight Sparkle. The two got along wonderfully; Shining supported her with everything, and the two never had a single fight. The first time they ever really had any sort of conflict was during his wedding, but even then it was only because he was under the influence of the Changeling Queen's spell.
Speaking of his wedding, Shining is completely devoted to his wife, Cadence. The two share a very close bond, to the point where at times they don't even need to speak to get their points across. By marrying Cadence, Shining also accepted a rather huge responsibility by becoming her co-ruler when the Crystal Empire returned. Shining took to the job rather easily, even if it was quite the step up from his former job as Captain of the Royal Guard.
Shining's laid-back demeanor can occasionally lead to him acting a bit goofy, but he can just as easily turn serious. While he isn't as smart as Twilight, he's still fairly well-read. He is much more calm than his sister, as well, and not one to let minor inconveniences stress him out. Once he gets a job, he becomes committed to doing his best in that job.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ He possesses a well-trained military mind.
+ He is quite physically strong, as well.
+ He is loyal and understanding, as well as just friendly in general.
- His laid back situation sometimes makes it difficult at times for him to see if something is seriously bothering those close to him.
- He tends to be slightly biased towards those he cares about. This means he'll believe them over others, even if they are clearly lying.
- He has trouble noticing the smaller details at times.
